buildings are many
canals everywhere
there, the waft of renaissance
fills the air

few open spaces
blown glass
and fine laces

well yes they have
the Bridge of Sighs
but athletes few
with muscley thighs

Ventian ices
fancy fine wines
all a constant reminder
of historical times

now to be fair

there is St Mark’s Square

but there’s always way

too many people there

you’d  never be able to fix up a net

or finish a set

now i feel sure that Leeds
could more than accommodate your needs

so as to save you some time

and eek out a rhyme

you can’t play tennis
in Venice
