Budgetbeaters Breakout

(a poem about some supermarket tolleys that are literally ed up of being pushed around)

searchlights scan
from supermarkets
six trollys have gone AWOL

they made the break
at five past eight
sick of Pepto Bismol

six tollys
they have gone to ground
upturned by the garden hedge
they've got to know some mattresses
who've been living on the edge

I Wait By The Car

she

wakes without warning
tugging she
curtains
just enough to cut the dust

i check the post

she searches for something
something to slurp
last night's curry
depleated, reheated;
devoured in bed

i butter some toast

she

shuffles off to the bathroom
splashes about
toothbrush on full
mirrored on tiptoe
draining the dam

i feed the cat

she

searches seeks out something
something to wear
steps into a dress
ties a scarf in her hair
then
changes her mind regardless of time!

i wait by the car

Spellbound

she casts her spell
where e’er she goes
a light dusting of my coat
it makes me scratch
and itch all day
and no known antidote!

Remember The Woods

we used to run amok
about the woods
screaming “Watch out, Gerrys!”
no time for woodland creatures
bluebells, bracken or berries

building our dens
from the things that we found
pinecone grenades
hurled down from the  mound

all charging out with pointed sticks
bloodcurdling war crys of DIE!

but......

as mother always used to say

“it’s all fun and games
till someone loses an eye!”

Bar des Arts - Guildford

Thank you to Janice and Donall for inviting me to perform at your "Pop Up Lurve Poetry" night. Well worth the trip, hope to see you again soon =;-)

Las Vegas Poets.org

Great to do two spots in Las Vegas. First an open mic @ The Beat Cafe Downtown Vegas and the second  a slam at the beautifully sleazy Double Down Saloon. Very enjoyable meeting and performing with American poets & making some new friends to boot.....not literally.
