Bikes Of Passage

we used to turn our bicycles 

upside down

along the passage 

by the garage

and turning the pedals 

with our hands

would make the back wheel spin 

and for a little added realism?

sometimes we’d give the bell a ping!



we liked to pretend 

that we were grinding coffee?

now i often wondered? 

what we were doing?

but never found out why?

you see

the other boys were older

and i was kind of shy…..
